On the move at 7-months – Winchester, MA

There’s nothing quite like the transition from a baby being the stationary-I-can-plop-you-anywhere-and-when-I-come-back-you’ll-be-in-the-same-place mode to the crawling mode. It just happens one day. And it happens fast. And now you are in the next chapter. The chapter where every piece of furniture can be a hazard and you call the pediatrician the first time the baby falls and hits her head on the hardwood floor (*I’m neither confirming nor denying this for myself). It is exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time. And so is the case for sweet Baby B. She’s got mad skills. I’ve known her since she was born and I can’t believe she’s already mobile. Her parents are dear friends of ours so it’s been especially fun to see her grow.

Before we get to all of Baby B’s sweet moves, check out this precious face!

And she’s off!

Watch out, Megan and Brad, she has big plans. BIG plans.

Oh, and did I mention she’s already pulling up on things, too? Uh huh.

This cute chair has been in Megan’s family for generations; I love that sentimentality!

She’s such a love.

Thank you, Brad and Megan, for letting me capture your little one while she’s still so little. I can’t wait to see what she has in store.

My twin nephews bound for the UK – Melrose, MA

I sit here with tears in my eyes looking at these images because in 24 hours, my silly-no-time-for-sitting-just-have-to-get-the-wiggles-out twin nephews are off to the UK for two years with my sister and brother-in-law. Normally, I see these boys and my dear sister about once a week. There’s going to be a hole in my heart (and in my schedule) to fill while they are gone. They will likely return with a cute British accent, a few inches taller, and perhaps a little less just-have-to-get-the-wiggles-out-ness to them, maybe. I will miss them all dearly and am already looking forward to a trip to visit.

Hugs for mama!

These next three images captures their unique personalities so well – Little H (on the left) is so serious yet he has this super silly side if you catch him while he thinks no one is watching. Little O is outgoing and has the most contagious laugh I’ve ever heard.

It was a hot morning so the boys decided to end the session by cooling off in the park fountain. They had a blast!

They also seemed to enjoy getting their dad soaked with a “double hug.”

Thanks for a fun session, Beth & Mark! Your boys are so fun and I’m going to miss you all more than you can imagine. Safe travels.

Fun and fabulous at 2-years-old – Melrose, MA

Ever host a birthday party for your little one and feel like you’re scrambling around to mingle with your guests, manage the food, keep your little one(s) happy, and oh, snap some pics so you and your birthday girl/boy can look back and see all the fun you had? Yeah, I’ve been there, too. Maybe I don’t have the hostess-with-the-mostess thing down, but I always feel like I’m spinning my wheels at the height of a party and find myself wishing I were an octopus. Come to think of it, having eight arms on most days would come in handy.

Well, this group of moms who met in a group when their little ones were just babies have a tradition of a group birthday party and decided that instead of trying to grow more arms, they would have me there to at least take care of the photo part of the party. It was SO much fun! The jungle safari theme was perfect for these cute little animals.

Love all of these details!

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to… and then I’ll run.

Completely geared up for the jungle safari hunt. Bring on the lions and tigers!

Parachute time. (They have parachutes in the jungle, right?)

Climbing on tables – animals, I tell you!

This little explorer was really hoping to “pet” the bees. Hmm. Not so much, little guy.

Thank you to all of you for having me! It was a ton of fun seeing you all and playing with your 2-year-olds. (Can you believe they are two already?)

Curls and pigtails – Watertown, MA

Oh, Little Miss O, you have such cute, curly locks! Who knew that two years ago when we first met that I would be able to document you growing into such a cute and fun-loving little girl. Despite the heat and humidity (mid-heat wave) even at 7:30am, we all had a great time hanging out along the Charles River. Maggie and Joel – you guys were troopers, especially considering that you had to *wake* her up to get to the session on time! (Annabeth and Lucy, are you paying attention? 5:15am is for the BIRDS!)

Ahem. Back to the matter at hand. Loving these smiles, you guys!

I love the sweet innocence of this image.

I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t love to use his/her parents’ arms as a human swing!

We had a nice little variety of backdrops and a few cute props from mom to play with.

Oh, Little Miss O, you have grown and changed every year and holiday, but this shoot was was my favorite thus far. Maggie and Joel, thank you so much for allowing me to capture the sweetness of your daughter. It is always a joy!
