Maternity session (Ashley & Stefan) – Newburyport, MA

If you’re already a parent, you know that there are hazy, lovely memories of the time before children. Times when you could take a stroll without worrying about the bottle/swaddle/diaper (or the older version: books/stuffed animals/toys). For Ashley and Stefan, they decided to document some of this time and revisited the spot where they were married, take a little walk through town, and stop for a coffee along the way. They were able to chat leisurely, take in some sights, and ponder what lies ahead in the coming weeks. Thanks so much, you two, for an enjoyable morning. Wishing you lots of luck with the much anticipated event – and I’m not talking about anything holiday-related! I can’t wait to meet your new little one!

Premonition of a 3-year-old – Newton, MA

Before they were even pregnant, this darling 3-year-old told her mom that she wanted twins for siblings. A pretty tall order by most counts. But little C must have had some kind of direct line to the future because that is exactly what she is getting: twin sisters. Tara and Joe are busy preparing for the arrival of the two new babies while C is getting super excited about becoming a big sister (and enjoying some undivided attention from her parents!). Big-sister-to-be showed me around the adorable room for the twins. We also took advantage of the pretty snow falling outside. Tara and Joe, congratulations on your new babies-to-be! And to darling C, I hope you remember that despite being outnumbered by newborns in a couple of months, it’s clear your mom and dad adore you! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Enjoying the snow – South Boston, MA

Sarah and Mike are the kind of couple that make you smile without even knowing that you’re smiling. They are cute and funny together and are excited to add to the cuteness with a little one coming in April. We managed to schedule our shoot right before (another) major snowstorm took hold of Boston. The timing worked out perfectly to get some pretty snowflakes for our outside photos. We’ve had so much snow this winter that we had to laugh at the park benches that had basically become part of the “ground” we were walking on. Sarah and Mike, you guys were such good sports. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy. Thanks so much for the opportunity to photograph you during this special time. I can’t wait to meet the little guy!

Anticipation (and baby) growing – North Reading, MA

Soon-to-be big sister C is already brimming with pride about her baby sister who is expected to make her debut in June. She’s already practiced feeding her dolls, she sings to her mama’s belly, and shares stories about her big plans for her and her sister. She’s as cute as a button. She’s also my only niece – for now, at least. This shoot with my sister, Rainelle, her huband, Doug, and my sweet niece was a lot of fun. It was on one of the warmer days we’ve had this spring and the light was so pretty as the session was just before dusk.

Rainelle, you look beautiful and I look forward to meeting (and photographing!) your newest little one this summer. Doug, should you ever feel outnumbered in your house, all you have to do is think of the 5:1 ratio my dad had and you will feel better. And to my sweet niece, you will be a wonderful big sister, I’m sure. I cannot wait!
