Newborn session with baby A – Boston, MA

When your first baby is a Bernese Mountain Dog, your newborn baby probably seems like but a morsel. So is the case of little baby A and his big brother, Grizzly. Grizzly couldn’t have been more gentle. Baby A couldn’t have been more lovable. Rachel and Drew couldn’t have been more sweet. Grizzly was a bit curious about my presence, already playing the role of protector. He barely made a squeak while they fed him, rocked him, snuggled, and kissed him. Rachel and Drew, congratulations on a beautiful baby boy! Thank you so much for the chance to photograph the three of you as you settle into your new routine.

Senior session with Regan – Gloucester, MA

Regan came armed with her sweet mama and her darling sister. Mama provided some guidance while sister provided some comic relief. And Regan provided her beautiful smile and calm nature. She talked about jumping hurdles (literally, that’s one of her sports) and working at the local farm stand. These two girls and their mama were unknowingly sweet with one another. They seemed to have the kind of dynamic that exists between most moms and daughters at this stage – and to me, it was all endearing. There’s something special about being a senior – teetering on the edge of being mostly independent and yet still finding a lot of comfort at home. Regan, I wish you all the best this year and in the future with whatever hurdles you may jump.

Family portrait session (Tracy, Dean, A, & D) – Ipswich, MA

The horses seemed to welcome us as they trotted over to the fence. They are gorgeous animals, aren’t they? Little D seemed especially drawn to them, reaching out to pet them any chance he got. Big brother A wanted to do the thing all kids his age would do: jump off the log and into daddy’s arms. We totally lucked out in finding this little spot as our original location was a no-go that morning. Tracy looks stunning no matter what location we’re in – her wonderful smile and expressive eyes stand out in any scene. How lucky am I that I’ve gotten to photograph this family ever since A was a newborn? Incredibly lucky.

Tracy and Dean, I love our photo sessions! Thanks so much for a magical and fun morning with the horses.

Family portrait session (Jen, Matt, S, N, & A) – Melrose, MA

Most, dare I say all, moms and dads know the feeling when your little one starts running, bare-legged, as fast as their little legs can go – on pavement. You can just feel the fall coming. And you cringe, silently, hoping you’re wrong, and perhaps give a gentle reminder to “be careful.” Jen did just that while watching her twin girls race along with big brother. They did quite well for a while, and then, sure enough, one went down. She recovered remarkably well with few scrapes! Whew.

All three littles were thrilled to feed the ducks, offering as many crackers as their little hands could hold. Big brother was itching to climb to the highest rock, explore everything the park had to offer, and exercising his independence as much as possible. And the twins were anxious to follow suit! Our nature exploration ended with loads of fun at the playground where Matt was caught between being a pirate and helping with shoe duty. Thanks, guys, for sharing your afternoon with me!
