Family portrait session (Tara, Joe, C, R, & A) – Newton, MA

A little over a year ago, these twins could snuggle together in their mom’s arms. And now they are on the verge of walking and the ability to carry both of them at the same time is nearly over. Baby R seemed to smile at everything while baby A seemed to be a bit more hesitant but both were as cute as could be. Big sister C couldn’t have been sweeter – at one point C wanted to cheer up one of her crying sisters so much that she herself started getting sad when it wasn’t working.

Tara and Joe, what an adorable little crew you have there. Thanks so much for having me; it was wonderful to see how much they’ve grown in a year!

Newborn session (Adina, Noah, A, C, & E) – Sudbury, MA

They’ve lived in their new house for less than a year but it’s already filled with images of the two oldest boys – the pictures line the stairs, there are photo albums on the coffee table, and large images hang in the living room. Now, they’ll have photos of their newest son to add to their beautiful wall art. Sweet E had a slightly early arrival into this lovely family and seems pretty comfortable in this beautiful home. When he woke up from his snooze, he was so chill – no crying, no fussing, no startling. He just lay there checking things out with eyes wide open. Complete melt-your-heart-material. His two older brothers seem to be adjusting slowly to this new little being, all the while maintaining their silliness factor, of course.

Adina and Noah, wishing you and your handsome trio lots of giggles and snuggles together in the coming weeks and months. Oh, and that ever important, highly-sought-after thing called sleep.

Morning documentary session (Rebecca, Owen, H, & M) – Southborough, MA

Having two little kiddos means having a bottle and a sippy cup at the ready at any given time. It means the younger one gets exposed to characters (i.e. Star Wars) way earlier than the first one did. Having two little kiddos means completing a puzzle with the older one (who aptly points out the age requirement printed on the box to his younger sibling) and then act as a referee when the baby goes after it and wants to tear it apart. It means giving the baby an age-appropriate snack, like banana crackers, and having the older one want the same thing.

Between the giggle-filled-book-reading, Star-Wars-helmet-donning, puzzle-making, train-playing, stuffed-animal-snuggling, and cracker-snacking, this sweet family of four enjoyed their morning with one another. Rebecca and Owen, thanks so much for allowing the morning to flow naturally and letting me capture all the wonderful dynamics that unfold in the span of an hour. What a fun little morning!

Family portrait session (Sarah, Mike, and 1-year-old W) – Boston, MA

Well, that was a quick year! Goodness, little W, you were all sweetness when you were first born, super adorable at 6-months, and now, at 1-year-old, you are all adventurous and on-the-go! I could tell even before you were born that your parents were going to rock the whole parenthood thing. And sure enough, they are. They are eating up your coy looks, your curious nature, and risky climbing abilities.

We were fortunate to have perfect weather for our 1-year shoot – so perfect that all of Boston was out on the Common! We managed to find a few quiet(er) spots for some fun family shots and some of sweet W with his not-so-new-found walking legs (he was walking at 9-months!). It’s been such a wonderful treat getting to know you all so well, Sarah & Mike. From your maternity shoot, to the extended family sessions, to now, I feel so lucky for the opportunity. Congrats on surviving and thriving the first year!

Newborn session – (Suzanna, Nick, J, & J) – Winchester, MA

When asked if there was anyone new at his house, sweet J, beaming with pride, managed to tell me his new baby brother’s first name as he hid behind his daddy’s leg. Right away, this kid, who, during our first session about a year and a half ago went into complete hiding after just a few minutes into our session, was more than willing to get into the frame for some family-of-four portraits. He held his little brother gently, kissed his forehead, and seemed to admire the smallness of him, unaware that he, too, was that small once upon a time. Baby J was alert and seemed to take in all that was going on around him – except when he was just about to fall asleep and big brother decided it was time to crawl up on the bed with him!

Suzanna and Nick, what a lovely little pod of four you have there. Wishing you so many cuddles and awe-inspiring moments with your two adorable boys. Oh, and lots of space for the trains, trucks, Legos, and superheros that lie in your future.
