Newborn session (Christina & Nick) – Bedford, MA

Though I didn’t get to meet this family until their third baby was born, I have a feeling that they were just as enamored with their first two as they are with this one. This sweet little one seemed chill with just about everything going on around her. While big brother and sister vacillated between jumping on the bed and reading books, they also stopped every so often to genuinely admire their new little sister.

Nick and Christina, congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! Wishing you loads of snuggle-time, moments of peace, and lots of coffee as you settle into your family-of-five-routine.

Family portrait session (Sarah, Mike, W, & V) – Wellesley, MA

Sarah and Mike are some of the most friendly and down to earth people I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over the past few years. From before little W was born to now, with little V speeding through the first half of her first year, this darling family has my heart whenever I am with them. What impressed me the most this time around? That after having to reschedule our session due to various reasons, Sarah and Mike showed up with kids in tow and a car packed full, ready to head out on vacation right after the shoot ended – all at 8am. Big brother W stayed busy covering his dad’s feet with sand, swinging on the swings, and checking out the water while sweet V seemed content to just sit and smile wherever she was.

Sarah and Mike, as always, it was a joy to see you and your littles! It warms my heart to be able to see how they grow and change as the months whisk past.

Cake smash and family portrait session (Jill, James, M, & M) – Brookline, MA

What other time in one’s life can you stick your fingers in a cake made solely for the purpose of making a mess and not get in trouble for it? This is it, little one! While it took a little prodding from his big sister, this birthday boy eventually tried a taste of the cake, decided he wasn’t a big fan, but then continued to have fun and slid the whole cake off the plate! This cake-in-a-park was the perfect way to kick off his birthday celebration. Big sis had fun with the balloons (and the cake), and looked absolutely darling in her shoes that matched the birthday boy’s. I couldn’t help but think of the book, “Where Do Balloons Go?” when she let one go and looked on with a kind of expected surprise as it floated up and up and away. We also got a few fun pics with their nanny who’s been with them for years!

Jill and James, congrats on making it through another first year of raising a little one – no easy feat in my book!

Newborn portrait session (Jill, Jeremy, & baby J) – Stoneham, MA

Baby J – oh, sweet baby J! You are so little and adorable and made to look even more little and adorable in the palm of your dad’s hand! The ability for Jeremy to hold his son’s whole body in one arm, his tiny head resting comfortably and completely in his palm won’t last long, so we seized the moment. We also giggled at the moment when little J needed a diaper change and did what so many little baby boys do when they get a diaper change. Yup, you guessed it. Jill and Jeremy were good sports about the whole thing and baby J seemed, well…relieved. While these two busy, entrepreneurial parents get accustomed to this new chapter in their lives, they sure have a good dose of baby cuteness to enjoy.

Jill and Jeremy, congratulations again on this new bundle of love in your lives. Wishing you daytime naps, tender smiles, and strong coffee!

Extended family portrait session – Winchester, MA

“Remember that time when we were little and Grandma and Grandpa wanted to take photos of our whole family? I was a baby and you were maybe 2 or so – remember that one where I made that sad face at you and then you just sat there and looked at me?” says future 14-year-old to cousin to future 16-year-old cousin. Extended family portrait sessions are beloved since they can mark a family in a time and place that they will forever remember. They can also be full of stories that will be told for years down the line, causing a teenager to blush, or an uncle to laugh out loud. This lovely family came together on an early weekday morning to capture their family as it stands today – with two littles who, though they may not remember the session itself, will have a few gems to hold in their back pocket to show at family parties (or to boyfriends and girlfriends!) along the way. We didn’t get much time to roam around the farm, but we definitely got our full share of experiencing the goats!

Tara and Dean, Shavawn and Chris, Ryan and Jill, it was so wonderful to meet you all and see the budding personalities of your two little ones!
